ABOUT ME

I'm a 22 year old contortionist-in-training who loves books and people (but I might love books a little bit more). I love to make things. Anything. I also love exploring, seeing places I've never seen, having awesome conversations with awesome people, seeing new perspectives, learning new facts about things that I'll probably never need to know.

PHILOSOPHY

It's safe to assume that I know nothing. I mean, I know a lot of things. But in the grand scheme of things, there is so much I have yet to learn and there is so much I will never know. I live my life to love other people. I want to be an entity of love on this earth. Anything outside that is just extra. I live to know people, I live to know myself, I live to help where I can and to learn where I can't. I'm a very passionate person. I can't love anything or anyone casually.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love talking about books and movies and feminism and social constructs and the American education system. I love telling stories. I love making things for people. I'll make you something if you ask, especially if I owe you something (for instance, if I sleep at your house I'm going to feel the need to repay you).
I clean up after myself, I take care of my hygiene so I don't smell like a herring. I'm pretty okay at baking vegan goodies, and I make a mean peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with friends at their places before. I've stayed with a person I hardly knew for four days, he let me sleep on his fouton and now he's one of my favorite people this world has to offer.

Interests

Books, movies, art, artists, people who make things, people who take things, passionate people, disinterested people, people who love others and people who choose not to, reasons for people being the way they are, childhood stories, family photo albums, favorite stories.
I love people and I love learning people and I will sit and listen to your life story for hours if you'll let me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nerd stuff! I'm a giant nerd. I'm getting into comic culture (all these comic book movies are helping to fuel that fire). I love me a well-written, well-made movie. I love practical effects. I love complex characters with backstories and reasons for their characterization. I also love stupid movies. Terribly, cheaply made movies with awful acting and canned effects from free editing software. Movies about killer dinosaurs and shark tornadoes and a giant octopus that attacks cities. I like to laugh, I like to cry, I like to have feelings about the things I watch.
I'll listen to any music at least once. I can get into literally almost anything. I love to dance, and I love it when people will dance with me.
I will read almost any book. I love a good story. I love recommendations. I love the smell of old books, I love books with inscriptions in them, I love books that have been passed down through generations. I love book stores. Books, yes. Yes good.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to sew, or how to make a sewing pattern from something that already exists. I'll teach you to crochet or make friendship bracelets, or I'll try to teach you something about art. I'll recommend books and movies. I'll teach you to use my camera, I'll give you a recipe for an awesome sugar scrub. I'll teach you to play the ukulele (though I'm still learning myself, so please be patient). I'll teach you to do pirouettes. I'll teach you to stretch properly so you can get your splits. I have approximate knowledge of many things.
I'm more than willing to learn anything you can throw at me. I love learning. Teach me whatever you can. Teach me everything.
I'll make you clothes and scarves and costume pieces and bracelets and whatever I can. If you want them. In return, I ask you to teach me things or make me things if you want to. I don't know. I like doing stuff for people. Let's do stuff.
