ABOUT ME

Hey everyone! My name's Ági. Some call me Angie, maybe it's easier for you as well. I am constantly dicovering the world around me and there's still a lot to do. :)

I live in Budapest, Hungary and work as an English teacher and life coach. I'm currently studying kinesiology, and I'm interested in all kinds of alternative medicine. (I think I'll never stop studying.)

I'm usually quite busy because I work a lot and I need to spend time with my family, friends and hobbies - like everyone else. Still I'm ready to meet up if we can arrange it!:)

I think people think... I'm open-minded, friendly, humorous, emphatic, talkative, on the other hand a bit absent-minded with my head in the clouds sometimes. (However I'm aware of my weaknesses and trying to seize all opportunities to improve.)

I like walking, reading, making friends, visiting new places, dancing, singing (only for myself for now), swimming and riding a bike. I'm a sunshine-addict and a big fan of animals (especially cats!). I love all kinds of water and I get on well with kids.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed, took part in CS events and made some friends in Holland. I'd like to go on with these. Sometimes maybe I can host as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I made several friends through CS and that's the best thing! I keep browsing and making contacts and also take part in the CS meetings when I can.

Travelling, learning languages, culture and history, art, literature, music, psychology, animals and nature.

Human rights, social problems and possible solutions, helping people in need interest me very much. Especially new ways and ideas, groups, organizations that put human life in the first place. I am still looking for my way to contribute.

Some of my favourites but not a complete list:

I like modern literature the most.
My favourite authors are Paul Auster, Milan Kundera, G.G. Marquez and Kurt Vonnegut. I like scandinvian crime fiction, e.g. Karin Fossum and Henning Mankell. I LOVE Erlend Loe's Doppler!

Movies: Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, Så som i himmelen, Burn After Reading, Waking Ned, Das Leben der Anderen, In Bruge, Piaf, Hors de prix, Un long dimanche de fiançailles, Amadeus. I love Monty Python but also Jim Carrey. I love crime series (of course scandinavian the most!), Sex and the City, Girls and Family Guy - just not be too highbrow..;)

The music I prefer is rock and alternative but I also like some of pop, hip-hop, electronic, jazz, blues and classic. I like dancing to latin music.
Quality is what matters.
I like Yeasayer, Cocorosie, The Noisettes, Nouvelle Vague, Ayo, Parov Stelar, Morcheeba, RHCP, RATM, Metallica, Massive Attack, Buena Vista Social Club, Sia, Sigur Rós... And a lot of Hungarian bands.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've seen strangers smiling at each other many times. I've seen the sunset from thousands of different places. I've swum in the North Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea. I've ridden a bike holding hands with a boy under the stars. I've danced like a fool and a godess while everyone was watching. I've been hugged unexpectedly by children and adults many times. I've experienced the genuine kindness of people who came to me from nowhere when I needed them. I will never stop admiring the wonders of life I guess.
