I am a rather cool, kind and friendly guy. I am often described as an "intellectual" (I am economic historian) but you will probably call me a nerd.... I am reliable, friendly, charismatic, intelligent, benevolent. I am social chameleon and can go along with people from very different backgrounds.

contra: I speak sarcasm as a 2nd language...

PHILOSOPHY

ἕν οἶδα ὅτι οὐδὲν οἶδα: "I know one thing: that I know nothing"! I am rather lucky in my life, studied a lot, visited many countries, lived in the most exciting Western cities, met a lot of impressive and great people. But I still want to learn more things, to discover other cultures, to explore this planet further, to meet more people... This is an endless quest!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I take part as often as possible to CS meetings, try to organize events when I am not too busy (this hasn't occured for a while, I must confess). I hosted people in Switzerland, New York and Paris. I am now in London and have to work very hard, which limits my involvement in the CS community.

I am very sad to see that couchsurfing is evolving towards a kind of dating website. I warn you guys: if you have any negative or neutral reference from a woman mentioning any embarassing behavior, just don't send me a request!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first CS experiences in Berlin, 2008 which helped me to abandon my typical close-minded, scared and cautious Swiss attitude! I am really grateful to couchsurfing for this. Then I created my own profile to have an amazing experience with the couchsurfing people in New York during the Summer 2012! Occasionally hosting since, in Lausanne, Paris and London, when my work schedule allows it!

Favorite books: A. Camus, l'Etranger; A. de St-Exupéry, le Petit Prince; L-F Céline, Voyage au bout de la nuit. I think it is worth learning French to be able to read these masterpieces! I also enjoy Kafka, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Dostoevsky, Orwell, Faulkner, Spinoza, Plotinus

Movies: Once upon a time in America; Letters from Iwo Jima; The Godfather Pulp Fiction; The Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind...

As for music, I am totally eclectic: I enjoy myself as much in a minimal techno party as in a philarmonic concert or in a hard rock concert!
