My husband and I are two adventurous people that have lived all over the U.S. Before we married I hitch-hiked my way through Europe for six months and became thoroughly familiar with the kind and magical people of couchsurfing. I've assimilated my husband into this world, and we look forward to meeting you!

A little bit about me: I am addicted to hitch-hiking, exploring, cooking and delicious food, European accents, and cats. I'm a Texan without the accent. Born, raised, and escaped. This means I'm generally blunt, sarcastic, and fairly unphased by extreme circumstances or closed minds. I think so anyway. I value maturity, seriousness, and level-headed people, but I generally love being pulled out of that mode myself by fun/goofy/exciting types. I'm organized and I love to plan, but I've found that the best adventures start by unplanned events and encounters. I really do enjoy meeting new people (actually, does anyone on here NOT enjoy that?). Also, I'm super short. So if we meet and you want to pat me on the head, don't. I AM TINY BUT I WILL END YOU.

My husband: While far more quiet and serious than I am, he will be the first person to take you in and offer you a beer and a hearty meal. Educated as a philosopher, he will be the person you want to have long, abstract conversations with over dinner. He's also quick to laugh and hop on board with any spontaneous plan or idea you may come up with.

I'm pretty sure tiramisu is, like, the best thing ever. I think it might be an addiction. Also, I'm a reader. As in books - not some kind of psychic hippie stuff. I also love hiking, embracing blue gators, and giving tall people sass. I can't stand being around hardcore drugs, I don't smoke cigarettes (but I know a lot of lovely smokers!), but I'm 420 friendly, I'm always up for a drink (because booze facilitates friendship and conversation), and I enjoy listening to soulful female musicians. I definitely don't take crap from anyone, but I highly value talking to others. I'm a cat fanatic, but I like all animals. I'm a liberal agnostic, though I enjoy talking about religion.

This is a difficult one.

I currently have books by Tim Powers, Sharon Shinn, Robin Hobb, Patricia Briggs, Scott Lynch, Jim Butcher, George Orwell, Piers Anthony, Gregory Bateson, and Richard Preston on my bookshelf. Those are a few, anyway. I'm a sci-fi/fantasy fan.

I'm huge into movies like Snatch, Seven, Lucky # Sleven, Meet Joe Black (anything with Anthony Hopkins, really), Pulp Fiction, Chocolat (Johnny Depp, nom nom nom), Knocked Up, Reservoir Dogs, Prophesy (all of them, and anything Christopher Walken besides), Juno (let's just file all sarcastic movies here), and endless more. Anything clever or funny and I'm totally for it. Movies like Borat wouldn't really cut it. Also, if you quote a movie to me or ask about an actor's name, I'll probably stare at you blankly. My memory is so bad.

My preference in music can only be described as anything other than rap, country, and heavy metal. Take the screamers AWAY. Some rap songs can be excused. But only the ones that aren't about bitches and hos. I've recently been on a kick for Hugo, Under the Influence of Giants, Amy Winehouse, Estelle, Adele, and other soulful chick musicians.. Honestly, anything upbeat and rhythmic will probably make me super happy. Got Spanish music? Lets do this. Please share your music with me!
