Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Mistral. I’m a college student, and I’m coming to settle down in France soon. What I’m most passionate about are languages, traveling, and meeting new people. I’m originally from Shanghai, China, but I have lived in France and the UK for some time. I’m already fluent in four languages (Chinese, English, French, and Italian), and right now, I’m spending a lot of time perfecting my German and enthusiastically learning Latin and Spanish. I love to think that every language is a new door opening to the world, and I’m always curious to learn something new from the people I meet. I see myself as respectful, open-minded, and eager to share simple and genuine moments with others.✨✨✨
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m new to Couchsurfing, but I’m really excited to join this community full of friendship and generosity. What I love about it is the idea of being both a host and a guest: hosting travelers in my home someday, and in the meantime, discovering the world through the stories and hospitality of others. I hope to share genuine moments and build connections that last far beyond a single trip.
Interests
I’m interested in many things, but languages hold a special place in my life. I will not forget the amazing moments I spent in the library linguistic department of University of Cambridge.
Aside from that, meditation and sports are part of my routine to stay balanced and healthy.

Music, Movies, and Books
A book that really left a mark on me is The Stranger by Albert Camus. I love how it explores life and absurdity with such powerful simplicity. For music, find the anthem for the 2026 Milan Olympics particularly inspiring right now. I also enjoy listening to Disney movie soundtracks; they bring back a beautiful sense of childhood nostalgia.
My favorite movie might be 12 Angry men.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don’t really like to name out one specific incredible thing, because I believe that every day is sacred, and every moment can be incredible if you know how to live it fully and with gratitude.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love learning and sharing what I know. For example, I’d be happy to help someone learn Chinese or improve their French, just as I’d love someone to help me progress in German or Spanish. I think every exchange is an opportunity to grow.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I have just said, I’m new to Couchsurfing, and I’d love to join this amazing community. I’m ready to do a lot of cleaning and sincerely help around the house. I can also cook and I cannot wait to share culinary skills!!
