About Me
Hi new friends :) I'm an Australian currently living in BC, Canada (since October 2015). I finished 7 years of university (Law & Environmental Science) in 2014, then I booked a one way flight to North America to explore :) I've been living in Canada since October last year. I'm travelling in Europe at the moment, starting with 6 weeks hiking the Portuguese route of the Camino Santiago (April + June), then visiting friends and family in Italy, France and Austria (with a side trip to India). I've got a couple of weeks left in Europe before I fly back to Canada and I'd love to meet some new people and try out this "couch-surfing" business!

Music, Movies, and Books
I've got really eclectic tastes in music, so if you've got something you really like chances are I'm happy to listen to it! Somehow I managed to work at a cinema for 5 years and hardly see any movies, so I haven't updated my repertoire in quite a while, but I just can't go past classics like The Lion King, Aristocats and anything from Pixar ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On the way to Lukla airport to start a hike to Mt Everest Base Camp in 2013, the helicopter I was in had to make an emergency landing in the middle of a corn plantation in the foothills. The kids from the local school walked past us after class and I ended up playing "cricket" with them for the next 3 hours til sunset. Turns out we were 2 days walk from the nearest paved road, and the best entertainment for miles around! We stayed in a nearby house's attic until the next morning when the clouds burnt off and we could fly to the airport to start trekking.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An open mind, bad puns and the occasional fun fact or five... Did you know that polar bears have black skin and their fur is actually clear, hollow tubes? Woah! Also, they've started mating with Grizzly Bears, producing offspring which (some) scientists are calling "Pizzly Bears" (not as good as "Grolar Bears" in my opinion...)
I promise not all my fun facts are about polar bears (actually I think that's all I've got on that topic for now..)
