Hey there, I’m Mitch!

I'm planning on travelling and backpacking through Europe and staying long term in Istanbul.

I previously worked in politics back in Australia, so I have a pretty keen interest in anything political both back home or internationally. My undergraduate degree was in Politics and I'm finishing off my Masters in Urban Planning.

Other than that I'm really into sports (particularly basketball and Aussie Rules), going out for drinks whether it's at bars or clubs, going on day trips and hikes, and just generally finding new, interesting things to do by putting myself out of my comfort zone.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

To meet with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, and find some new friendships along the way. I like to be open minded about things and experience new cultures, ideas, foods etc.

Also I've had a few attempts at learning foreign languages and haven't done particularly well, so if anyone would like to help me a bit with Turkish and/or German that would be awesome too!
