About Me

CURRENT MISSION

At the moment I'm trying my best to find a balance between the dual qualities of life...organization and commitment on the one hand... relaxation and open mindedness on the other. Travelling has really given me the opportunity to work on both of these!

ABOUT ME

Hi there!

I am a 25 year old studentand have been attending the University of Fine Arts Berlin this summer!

I'm extremely excited to see at least some of Europe, so before and after my school semester I will be travelling as much as I can!

PHILOSOPHY

Always focus on the positive!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be back in Vancouver in September at which point I hope to host and get to know some wonderful and interesting folks!

When I'm home, I go to school and work full time, so I generally have a pretty full schedule. However I'm sure that if you come my way I can find some time to show you around to a couple of places!!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, Im pretty new to couchsurfing so I havent had too much chance to participate just yet! I am currently living in Berlin, and travelling around europe. As it says elsewhere in my profile, I recently had an amazing couchsurfing experience in Basel, Switzerland... I hope to have many more!

Interests

I attend the Emily Carr University of Fine Art and Design in Vancouver. So obviously I love making art, reading about art, talking about art and visiting art museums. I also love reading, spending time outside and getting to know interesting new people. What else can I say?!?!

  • arts
  • humanities
  • design
  • contemporary art
  • cooking
  • reading
  • traveling
  • art history
  • history

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now I'm reading 'The Wayfinders'. Its written by an anthropologist who works out of Northern British Columbia. The premise of the book is that we need to understand the importance of preserving older, non scientific, indigenous forms of knowledge. So far so good, I'll post more later!

Other books that I've read recently and enjoyed....

Kurt Vonnegut - Slaughterhouse 5
John Irving - Until I find you
Cormac Mccarthy - The Road
John Steinbeck - East of Eden

Teach, Learn, Share

By no means do I consider myself an expert in any field! I study contemporary art and art history. As students we are trained to situate art in political and social contexts, I would be more than happy to discuss the history of art, or new, contemporary art with any hosts or surfers. Of course, there is so much that I don't know, and probably will never know about this topic. I am just as interesting in listening to what other people have to say as I am in talking!

Basically, I just like discussion...from space travel to cooking to fine art. I might not have an experts opinion but I'm always interested!
