ABOUT ME

I was born in the Canadian prairie but did most of my growing up in Vancouver. I am obsessed with food, growing it, learning about it and transforming it to feed everyone around me.

I work summers at a serene backcountry lodge nestled deep in a national park in the Canadian rockies. This beautiful heritage lodge in the mountains is my favorite place in the world, far from the internet, cell phone reception or television. The months there are the high point of my year and I so enjoy cooking for the 60 guests and 28 staff.

The last few winters I've managed to get away on some big backpacking trips and I'm hooked, and I want to keep seeing as many mountains as I can and seeing the world. I'm almost as fixated on music as food, and love seeing live music everywhere I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm brand new to couchsurfing, but one of my close friends hosts a lot, and so I've met many couchsurfers staying with her.

For the moment my stuff is in storage as I've been working a seasonal job in a national park - family put me up when I breeze through Vancouver. Eventually I look forward to hosting when I'm here full time again!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a recent trip to South America with my boyfriend we spent two weeks volunteering on a wildlife refuge in the jungle in Bolivia. My time working with an adult male puma and working with capuchin monkeys was the high point of my trip and I really hope to return for another longer volunteer stint in the future.
