ABOUT ME

I am an unusual, open-minded and confident person. Having spent half my life in India and the other half in US, I think it's fascinating and important to understand and respect different cultures. When I travel, I want to meet locals- I want to find the cute little places that tourists don't go to and learn about the history, the social issues, the local (non-commericialized) dishes... and a few words in the native tongue! I have travelled and stayed in hostels, but have craved more. It's great to meet fellow travelers, but I really want to experience a new city through the eyes of a native!

Also, I am an autonomous person and absolutely despise being a bother to others, so I will be very respectful of your time. Perhaps the best thing I can offer is appreciation- I am thankful that you are willing to open your home to me and want to do my best to make sure you don't regret the decision!

Interests

I am an adrenaline junkie! Everything from flying, surfing, rock climbing to dancing, cooking, and shopping. I prefer to stay active- not just in the physical sense, but also intellectually. Am always trying to learn and do something new. Just recently, I enrolled in Tabla and Sitar classes, also have been studying West African dance for two years, and learned Italian for 2 years. I LOVE spontaneity, especially when traveling, because it's the last minute, crazy and random experiences which are absolutely unforgettable and unimaginably perfect!

Books: Biographies of entrepreneurs- currently am reading How I Lost My Virginity by Richard Branson

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My favorite experiences:
- Picnicking on a frozen lake in Yosemite, California
- Watching the sunrise on our way home from Webster Hall dance club, New York City,
- The midnight Eiffel Tower light show
- Attending President Obama's Inauguration
- Parasailing in Catalina, California
