About Me

Hello, again, CS! It's been a while since I've been active on here. Mad shit changed in my life this past year! I moved back to New York from Berlin, finished college, and then moved to Izmir, Turkey. 35! I work as an English teacher at a language school here and have a decent amount of free time. Debating my next steps in life, what to study (or continue studying), etc. Improving my Turkish and meeting great (and not so great) people. They call that life experience I think. As for CS, I've realized about 75% of the people I call friends I met either directly or indirectly through this website, so there's no reason to stop! :D

"Wohin wollen Sie gehen?"
"Dorthin, wo man mir sagt: 'Du bist Gast hier'œ und ich antworten kann: "Ja gerne!"

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

New York.
Berlin. Montréal. Wien. Budapest. Rostock. Baile Átha Cliath. Lisboa.
İstanbul. Ankara. Samsun. Trabzon. Erzurum. Gaziantep. Antakya.

Things I've discovered through Couchsurfing:

Other people are so much cooler than me.
I can't play basketball.
Put something on top of fries and it will taste good.
Nobody makes strawberries like Québec.
Always have an umbrella.
Addresses don't always exist.
Vienna has much better Mexican food than Berlin.
Wearing shoes with holes in them is not smart in Dublin.

Reading, watching movies, playing soccer (football) or tennis, listening to music.

Music, Movies & Books

Right now really into Berliner Schule and old Turkish movies. Huge fan of Thomas Arslan and Fatih Akin.

Currently very big into German hip hop and some of the up-and-coming artists in the states, especially Chicago and NY rappers. But I listen to anything, really.

Brecht is the best, but I also love Emine Sevgi Özdamar and Selim Özdogan

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Having a logical conversation with my 1.5 year old niece for the first time on Skype.

Signed up for Couchsurfing...it really has changed my life for the better in so many ways.
