To boldly finish what I set out to do a few years back.

ABOUT ME

I'm a PhD student in anthropology. I'm simply stuck for a moment, in that my lease is up and I haven't yet left for my dissertation research.

Okay, i'm kind of serious, as getting a degree like this requires you to be (to an extent). however, I also have life outside of the university. music makes my heart beat (playing, of course, but listening to good sounds as well). i have a math degree, worked as an accountant, and then quit to work at a bookstore.

i have been known to engage in improvisational dance as part of a friend's music group's stage show. I also like to perform ballet, but I tore up my ankle (unrelated incident) before i could learn too much.

The person-to-person logic of capitalism suggests that any action be undertaken to increase the possibility that one can gain access to more capital. Thus, "networking" is such an activity. However much I may enjoy meeting people for such means, I absolutely prefer operating on a much more "exchange value" type economy, where reciprocity, rather than profit, is the rule.
