ABOUT ME

I live with my partner, Seth (35 yrs old and I am 28), in DC. We love craft beer, good friends, and adventure. Seth is a high school English teacher in the DC public school system and I am a writer/ Jedi for a local media startup.

Seth grew up in DC and I grew up in Alaska, so after 18 years of snow I avoid the cold. We are both big adventurers and big eaters. We hike, bike, kayak, and then restore our energy by cooking a huge meal and going out for beers with friends.

We hope to travel all over the world. We would love to stay with people who can show us the local culture of their home. We aren't as interested in the touristy stuff but keep open minds. What we are really interested in is making friends, seeing new places, and eating exciting food.

We like to host kind, interesting people with an awesome sense of humor.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the past 3 years we have had all sorts of incredible couchsurfing experiences, both surfing and hosting. Seth is a great cook which may be a perk of letting us stay with you/ crashing on our couch. We love meeting fun new people, which is why we joined Couchsurfing. All ages, genders, and other varieties of human beings are welcome.

When Seth and I are surfing:

We need space for two but don't mind sleeping on the floor (as long as it is clean). We have sleeping bags :).

We are very low maintenance, but if you are available, we would love to hang out with our hosts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have hosted several times in DC, which has been wonderful, and surfed in 9 different countries. Every experience has been amazing. I cannot think of a better way to travel!

Interests

Music, food, beer, wine, late nights, sleeping in, people, travel, writing, reading, Harry Potter, photography, art, drawing, Portugal, Le Cool Guides, comedies, film, Lost, True Blood, cooking, exploring, and so on.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a fledgling writer and Seth is a fledgling photographer. We love to share ideas with like-minded artsy folk. We also do a fair bit of hiking and camping (We spent 3 grueling days in the Grand Canyon!). We can teach you all about craft beer too.

I am working on my Portuguese and Spanish.
