Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just joined couch surfers and am looking forward to becoming part of the community. I'd love to host, but don't have much room in my current place, but I'd love to meet for coffee or a drink.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None...yet :)

Interests

Travel, art museums, cooking, languages (I speak decent french and am learning russian), music (I play the violin), hiking/biking, swimming, going to the movies (especially classics like Hitchcock and anything with Cary Grant), coffee, hanging out with friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like most kinds of music except for metal and country. My mom is a classical musician so I particularly enjoy going to classical concerts, ballet and the opera. I also like jazz- particularly artists like Coltrane and Theloneous Monk.

I have a very eclectic taste in movies- everything from 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail' to 'Charade' to 'Life is Beautiful'.

I try to read (non school related things) when I can. Right now I'm reading 'Kazakhstan- the land that disappeared' in anticipation of my upcoming trip to Almaty. I like travel writing (Peter Mayle), the classics ( Jane Austen, Charles Dickens), and biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my favorite memories is the view of the sunset over the roofs of Avignon while listening to the church bells of the city.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook and could definitely share any of my favorite recipes. I'm also really good at finding the best coffee in cities and can tell you where to go if you are in Paris, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Birmingham.

I'd love to learn as much as possible. Especially languages- I just started taking russian this year and would love to practice.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, United States, Virgin Islands, U.S.

Countries I’ve Lived In
