Hey there, my name is Matt and I live by the ocean in sunny Sydney! I am all about the outdoors and getting into nature and always keen to dive head first into a new adventure and love the possibilities CS can serve up so here is a little about me.

For years I worked in the pub scene managing some of Sydney's biggest watering holes and got to know loads of really cool people, forming friendships that span the Earth. These days I work day-in, day-out with my Dad's construction company and spend my days designing and constructing while saving the dollars for my next expedition or the taking on the town with friends for the weekend.

In my down time in the afternoon I like to train at my local gym in Bondi. I have played a high level of Australia's own 'Rugby League' though for the last 3 years I have spent my time training in thai and kick boxing, jui jitsu and freestlye wrestling. The training has been a humbling experience and I enjoy teaching people new things that come from sharpening your body and mind through the skills and lessons acquired :)

I have a fair bit of travel experience under the belt though I'm always on the hunt for something new; a new town, a new place, a new culture and most importantly new people! I am open to almost anything; no task too hard and nothing too far out there (within moderation, ha!).

Enough about me, I want to learn something about you, your town and your experiences when I take a seat on your couch!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I am making my way through the US and Europe this year over a 3.5 month period and meeting up with around 15 friends from Australia. I have my main travel buddy Tom who isn't on CS but is an absolute champ and long time pal and I will spend every day with him on our journey.

I couchsurf to meet new people and to get a look into an area from a locals perspective. Every experience I have had on CS has ticked every box and it is something I thing more people should utilise. Getting an insight into the life of someone who lives on the other side of the world is so rewarding and I have built some long-term friendships and certainly memories through this brilliant concept.

+ Teach - I have so much to learn, the bulk of my teaching will come some ways down the track! I can teach you some mean chokes and locks though :)

+ Learn - I love to take in everything people have to offer. Everybody has something to give to someone and I enjoy learning from other peoples experiences.

+ Share - A good time, a laugh, a few too many beers and memories that we will cherish forever.

I like to have fun and make people have fun. I love to laugh and smile and I can share some of myself with anyone willing to not take life too seriously and enjoy the moment. With any luck hosts will give me some of their time to make some memories in their lovely town and abode!
