Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
pursuing great views, good eats, new perspectives, and amazing friends
ABOUT ME
Student. Adventurer. Traveler.
It's impossible to describe a person in a few words, but I am at my core a kind and loving person. I was raised by Vietnamese immigrants who taught me how to be humble, appreciative, and generous.
I love traveling to not just see the world, but to learn from others, share my perspective and appreciate life and what it has to offer. I love the idea of sharing ideas from different cultures and ultimately, to understand and learn.
I am on vacation from school at the moment, and am on a 2-month backpacking trip through Southeast Asia to see old friends, but make some new ones along the way!
PHILOSOPHY
Citius. Altius. Fortius.
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people, and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." -Ralph Waldo Emerson
"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in Hanoi for 7 months working on a medical research project in a rural community in northern Vietnam. It was an amazing experience to help build a program from the ground up and see it thrive.
Visited a friend in Phop Phra, Thailand and taught science classes to Karen refugees. Lived with the locals and ate fish paste and rice for a few days. I finally understood what it meant to be a refugee (my parents were refugees).
With adversity, comes strength and resilience.
