Interests

Music -- I am a singer/songwriter, currently finishing my 3rd CD of original songs, with CDs #4 and #5 in progress. I sing with a 6-woman "a cappella" group that pairs indigenous chants with contemporary songs that have a positive message. I am also one of the directors of our local chapter of the Threshold Choir, whose members sing softly (solo or in twos or threes) at the bedside of those who are dying.

I love being outdoors and swimming. I enjoy dancing -- contra dance, folk dance, ballroom dancing, swing -- though I am currently recovering from injuries from a car accident and have had to put my dancing shoes on the shelf temporarily.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once became the center of a mandala of wild dolphins in the bay near the City of Refuge on the Big Island of Hawaii. They swam in an ellipse around me, surfacing and then diving deep, for about 20 minutes. I felt totally at one and at peace.

One March evening in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan out on the snow, hearing the sounds of the ice in the river breaking up and seeing the Northern Lights rippling like a flag -- pink and pearl and green -- then seeming to come toward us as though in an invitation.
