Ithink Couchsurfing basically is a great opportunity for either people who even cannot afford minimum travel accomidation expenses or for who enjoy communicating to locals . However in some undeveloped/developing countries with a low monetary value, that suffer from lack of tourist and tourism, incoming currency is an absoulate need and Cs can be a threat for tourism industry. So I would say let's stay in hostel, hotels eat out and do our best in these countries to benefit the locals.
