ABOUT ME
I'm colombian, and currently I'm a grad student at Cornell University (USA).I study the evolution of land plants. Even though not many people realize it, the history of the planet would not have been the same without the advent of land plants; from the food we eat to mountain-building processes, plants have shaped the history of earth.
PHILOSOPHY
Live and let live.
Learn to enjoy the small things; life is already too short.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I loved couchsurfing. Even though I am terrible in keeping in touch with people I meet, I find it delightful to get to know people by staying at their house or sharing mine. Hospitality is something the world cannot afford to loose.
Interests
On a less geeky-note, I enjoy hiking, reading, and painting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
For ~6 months total, my field work consisted on spending my evenings and nights in the top of the canopy of a tropical rainforest observing insects feed on plants. In the mean time I got to be side by side with sloths, howler and nocturnal monkeys, and snakes among others - Some of the best times of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
As people, we should learn to appreciate the small things. A cup of coffee, a smile, a simple 'thank you', a good book, or looking at a pleasant landscape. Life should not be about mindless outstanding achievements, but the ability to know ourselves and share with the world the best of what we are.
