Overview
About Me
I live with my husband, cat Xena (the warrior princess) and dog Tenko. I most enjoy hanging out with others when playing games or doing sports. Am somewhat introverted, however I do enjoy meeting new people and learning about culture and others' interests and passions. I am deeply curious and delight in learning new stuff.
When traveling I like to see what I encounter and start each day without much of a set itenerary except perhaps one main goal, and just let my travel experiences unfold, following the advice of locals. I am an absolute foodie and love to try foods, good coffee and other beverages.
Travelplans for Japan and northern Europe were set on hold this year and a touring of Norway is instead on my wish list. Since I will be away from home a bit, I hope to rather support the couchsurfing community by offering a ride along my routes to any who need a lift or some shared adventuretime around Norway. I enjoy anything from trailbiking, to horseriding to kayaking and playing a game of some sort.
I rarely post anything on the web but will try out the public trip function so catching a lift or meeting up is possible if anyone wants to do that.
If home, a bed or couch is available to travellers. :) We follow recommended social distancing and hygiene advice during this Corona epidemic.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing can be a really nice way to see the world and meet cool people while out and about adventuring!
Especially on a low budget.
A locals insight can be invaluable and a fun way to experience a place when you are not big on planning (like myself).

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy many genres of music. For listening, Zimmerman and other film music ranks high. Classical music and progressiv metal also. I do like my old school hip hop (especially for singing along in the car) and latin/ rnb for dancing.
Very much enjoy reading fantasy. Steven Erikson, Robert Jordan, Mark Lawrence, Neil Gaiman, Robin Hobb... and so many more.
Anime fan, both of series and movies.
Love movies with a good surprise and a good story.
Happy to play games (but I do get competitive if the game requires it and that side has been noted as less charming than my team-player side).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Slept a couple of nights under the open summer sky on the beach at Bleik (Vesteraalen) and was visited by sheep that roam around there during the night. Anyone visiting Norway should head up to the Lo-Ve-Se islands!
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach/share:
Where to find nice mushrooms like chanterelles in the area where I live, wild berries, a nice trail or water for swimming, and where the best coffee and food can be tastez! (I was once a barista and love good coffee).
I am challenged by a neverending appetite for learning stuff. I would like to learn welding and metalwork in the future (we made our own wedding bands and the ringmaking was a fun experience). Right now I am learning Zouk and kizomba (social dancing temporarily on hold) and the art of Ikebana.
While social distancing is in place I would like to learn how to better ride my bike on technical trails and cook over a fire / with primus while camping and hiking!
I can always teach someone something, much like I can always learn something. Since my knowledge is so random, it is best to just ask :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Any knowledge I have about places I have been in Norway and Colorado. Good coffee, any random knowledge I have, a chess game or trail biking partner. I am also a fair cook and do make american pancakes for breakfast by heart given the ingredients are available.
