About Me

I'm Mohab, originally from Egypt, currently living in Budapest, Hungary, where I'm doing my PhD in Sports Science. I'm also a paramedic and a life support instructor.

I'm easygoing, and always up for meaningful conversations or spontaneous adventures. Whether it's hiking in the mountains, exploring a new city, or just sharing stories over tea, I enjoy learning from people with different backgrounds and experiences.

In the past, I led hiking groups in South Sinai, collaborated with local Bedouin communities. I believe Couchsurfing is more than just free accommodation, it’s a cultural exchange, and I love meeting people who share that spirit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I moved to Hungary for my PhD, I’ve started traveling much more frequently, and Couchsurfing felt like the perfect way to make those journeys more meaningful.

For me, it’s not just about visiting new places, but about connecting with people, experiencing cultures from the inside, and sharing everyday moments that make travel special. I love hearing stories from locals, learning about different ways of life, and sharing my own experiences too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I’m a certified life support instructor (AHA, ERC, and NAEMT), so I’d be happy to teach you CPR or first aid, it might save a life one day!

Learn:
I’m always eager to learn about local traditions, languages, and everyday life wherever I go. Whether it’s how to cook a traditional dish, say a few words in your language, or understand your city’s hidden spots.

Share:
I can share stories from my travels, knowledge from my paramedic and research work, and my Egyptian hospitality. I love cooking Egyptian meals and would be happy to share one if we have the chance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My experience in Egypt and Budapest since I used to organise hiking trips in the mountains of South Sinai, Egypt. I used to lead groups through remote desert trails, working closely with local Bedouin communities. These trips taught me a lot about nature, simplicity, survival skills, and the deep cultural wisdom of the Bedouins.

Also I’m currently based in Budapest, and after living here for a while, I’ve gotten to know the city quite well, not just the famous sights but also the local spots that most tourists miss. If you’re ever in Budapest or planning a visit, I’d be happy to share tips on where to eat, hike, relax, or enjoy a quiet sunset by the Danube.
