About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the World, if i can

ABOUT ME

Fat and trying to be funny. I love to meet new people, get to know individuals from different cultures of the world. will not get out of bed when in Kabul because it is boring but when on a new adventure in a new place, i cannot sit idly. cannot dance but love dancing. not very religious, not the least bit. haven't read a lot of books but am a huge movie guy. i enjoy all kinds of music, as long as they are not the ones about Afghan boys or Iranian. want to travel the world someday and never stop...... more to come

PHILOSOPHY

Don't have one, but from recent experiences, never trust anyone fully, especially those who come on too strong, for they are the ones that will break your heart and trust to pieces. be open to the world, you never know what it might bring to the table

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because of my work, i cannot be on CS very much, but when i am, i look at statuses in my city, or concerning Afghanistan and try to give feedback, answer any questions and be helpful, although i don't have a couch. if you need any information regarding Afghanistan, don't hesitate to ask, i will either answer it or refer you to the right way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got to know about couchsurfing through a friend of mine in Afghanistan who hosted surfers. i must say that the couchsurfing community is very humble and kind. coming from a war torn country, it is very heartwarming to me when someone just wants to offer you his/her home to stay in, or any advice regarding your travel with only your experience and interaction to pay back.

other experiences have been good, but one i would like to share is when i couchsurfed in Goa, India. my first time. I am glad i met Kapil Bayani. so we are hanging out at his apartment and we are expecting this European couchsurfer lady to show up. she gets to Kapil's apartment and we say hello, introductions, blah blah blah. the thing is, an Indian Guy, and an Afghan Guy, from the looks of it to a European or a westerner might not seem like a good idea, although Kapil is very open minded and all around nice guy. things take a swift U-Turn when the sink in the bathroom of room she is staying in breaks while she is doing something in there, don't know what. Kapil being the nice individual that he is, doesn't even ask for payment and assures her that he will buy a new sink but she is scared now. she tries to make up something and leaves for a place an hour from the city to never return back. that was funny as hell, not to her, but to me..us

Interests

Culture, Science, Space, Dance, not really a sports guy, Military, friendship and whatever else you might be able to bring on. the only thing that i am scared of is drowning, maybe, but would love to experience all new things. i would like to go skydiving someday and experience the thrill you get out of it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Major Movie guy, i think with the amount of movies i have watched, i should be a critic. as i said in the above, i can listen to all kinds of music, but traditional Afghan Music is my favorite. Country and Rock are second to my list. if i had to choose my favorite movie, i would have to say it is "The Contact, Braveheart, and Lincoln". favorite song is indian "Yakeen by Atif Aslam". not a major book reader but Kite Runner, a Thousand Splendid Suns, RAND, and The Lone Survivor are my best of all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A tank round flying by that scared the living crap out of me. dislocated jaw that makes a cracking sound when i open my mouth because of a close bomb drop. my experiences have been of a war torn country, the only outside travel that i have done out of my country have been when i was a refugee in pakistan and my first international travel (Pakistan doesn't count, because it is not any different than Afghanistan) was to india. going into the ocean, paragliding and meeting new faces. I used to be an interpreter with a gun (somewhat normal in Afghanistan), so i would say catching terrorists is amazing :P please don't judge me?......

Teach, Learn, Share

The only thing i can teach you is how to dance terribly :P. i would love to share my experiences with people and learn new languages. i would like to learn all the languages i can. i am fluent in four, would love to learn more. i love people who share experiences, doesn't matter how bad, i will listen. just be open to anything
