About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Better understand myself and the world I inhabit.

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty bad at describing myself, but I can say that I waver between INFJ and INFP.

Also, I'm 5'10" 155 lbs, light brown hair, hazel (green and brown) eyes. I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, even studied engineering there for a year before transferring to the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design to study industrial design. I don't know what I want to do with my life now, so I plan on living it on the road for the time being. Maybe I'll stumble upon my life's calling somewhere out there.

PHILOSOPHY

This one is tricky, lengthy, and best discussed over coffee. I grew up catholic, but it just didn't feel right. I researched a variety of different religions, and was captivated by an arrangement of philosophies. For about a year I spent nights listening to lectures from Alan Watts that guided my life perspective. This sort of thing is a day by day for me though.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new! I'm a bit overwhelmed, but I'm sure I'll get into the swing of things here in due time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met a couch surfer in Chicago once. I was staying with a couple I had met through craigslist while I was interning at Rapid Displays. Other than that I just signed up and am just beginning to get my feet wet.

Interests

Woodworking! I get pretty excited about it, though I'm no expert. I do happen to love turning though.

I also like rock climbing, kayaking, biking, longboarding, and a whole assortment of outdoor active lifestyle activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not much of a reader, but there was one book that I picked up and as they say "could not put down." It was Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut. I've read others, but that was the one that I like thoroughly and read without ulterier motives.

As far as music goes, I have a wide variety of tastes depending on my mood just like most people, but to give insite to some of my interests, some of my favorites are Boards of Canada, Scissor Sisters, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Ludovico Einaudi, and recently I've been listening to the soundtrack for George A. Romero's, Day of the Dead.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to listen to people and lend an ear to strangers. Being there for someone in need gives me purpose and if some people just need to know that there's someone out there that will listen to them.
