About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live. Feel. Change. Love. Be.

ABOUT ME

talking and laughing too much, collecting anything to put on the walls especially berrets, a mess, sarcastic humour, can't make decisions, love to go out, dance and sing or just sit in the kitchen of my lovely flat in East London.

I kind of wasted my schooltime in a small town in the South of Germany so I have to make some progress in my travel experiences. I love meeting new people and checking every new opportunity to learn about different cultures and lifestyles.
Still lots to see:

After I have lived a year in beautiful Kyrgyzstan to improve my Russian and experience a little glimpse of one of the most interesting and most neglected regions of the world (Central Asia), I am now back to Europe to live in a very rainy place: London. Unfortunately studying in the Anglo-Saxon industry is a bit more than just a hobby, which is why I can't host right now. I'm happy to hang out though, meet new people and dive into the humidity of London...

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really know why we are living because if you think about it, life doesn't make any sense (thank you Camus and Sartre!!!), but I think we should enjoy this short time on earth and I also think that change is possible! Because every single problem is man-made! Come on - let's change the world!

Ah, yeah, and watch your privileges!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Coffee, sleeping, traveling. I would like to host more often and hope after my Master's to be able to do so. Participated in CS events in Bishkek, Moscow and Aix and met many nice backpackers crossing Kyrgyzstan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met great people along my way and am sure to continue like that...

Interests

politics, gender theory, postcolonialism, history, sociology (just look around - that's it!)

music and weird literature (original language, crazy philosophy, perfect thoughts)

traveling, visiting friends, learning about other people's life, feelings and political situation

and I love eating but don't really like cooking (which, you already guessed, causes problems sometimes), coffeeee!

Music, Movies & Books

I'm not that much of a film-knowing person, and with music I'm just more of the rock-jazz-reggea-punk-kind but Berlin made me love electronic stuff too!

But I really love books!

At the moment I'm reading:
- Tolstoi: Krieg und Frieden
- Dostoyevski: Die Brüder Karamasov
- Tschingis Aitmatov: Kindheit in Kirgisien
- Alice Munroe: Dear Life
- Eva Illouz: Warum Liebe weh tut: Eine soziologische Erklärung
- Emmanuel Carrière: Limonov

And I don't believe in this whole "favorite"-thing...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Sun blinking finally through a small hole in grey Berlin sky making the city shine and showing its beauty.

Bathing the fountains of Aix at night (which is highly forbidden as several passerbies and a policeman stated. Still - great experience!

Mountains in Central Asia. Everytime again: beautiful, amazing, feel your tininess and breath eternity.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach knitting, French and German, good Latte Macchiato and how to find things in absolute chaotic surroundings!

Would like to improve my Russian, learn Turkish and/or Kyrgyz and how to drive metros (as a driver of course!)

I'm collecting the word for squirrel in all languages (but the rule is, it can only be passed on by people, no internet, no books) so will be happy if you help me extend my list.

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, Uzbekistan

Countries I've Lived In

France, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, United Kingdom
