About Me

I love hanging out with my grandchildren when I'm in Australia. I am passionate about music, I love people and have a soft spot for the odd, I love the bush, interested in world politics and humanity. I'm an anarchist and a feminist. I grow trees and plants, mainly to give away as I don't have space to keep them, but I love propagating and growing trees, and we need more trees, so I just keep doing it.
Currently living in West Africa in Gambia. I love couchsurfing and have hosted many, many people for 37 years! A few of those have been through this app but only 2 are listed. To me it's a normal thing to do and I really enjoy meeting people and see what stories we have to share. If you're staying with me we can have as much interaction as you like, depending on how busy I am I'll try to be available to be of assistance or show you around a bit, but also happy to leave you to your own devices.

ABOUT ME

My friends would say I am generous, friendly and caring and a pretty good cook.

PHILOSOPHY

Feminism, humanitarianism, sharing love and caring.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All my life |I have been couchsurfing! I've actually hosted many surfers from different countries but they don't show up on my profile. I've just found out you have to get references for them to show up! From now on I'll remind people to leave a reference as they are quite helpful when looking for a host.

Interests

Music, listening - especially African, Brazilian and post punk. But I love music!
As for playing music - I play West African, kora, gongoma, djembe and dunduns

Music, Movies, and Books

too much to list today

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Music and dance in Guinea
and Cote d'Ivoire.
Traveled by road in crazy local transport through West Africa many times to visit family and friends. Quite an experience!
Watching my grandchildren grow - moments galore!

Teach, Learn, Share

all kinds

What I Can Share with Hosts

In Gambia -A bed or two in private room or wherever we can find a spot to suit you.
I can show you around, explain how to get around yourself, introduce you to local life, take you to see amazing music and dance, find you a dance or music teacher, leave you alone to enjoy the hammock in the garden, watch a movie with you (I have lots of good movies and documentaries).
In Australia a comfortable bed for one or two people in a lovely bush sanctuary, and I can also offer to show you around or take you for a swim at the waterhole or leave you to go for a bushwalk or read a book.
Always good to ask for what you need and I'll see if I can help.
