About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Budget a eurobackpackingtrip, pay off student loans, do arty international things. BAM.

ABOUT ME

Pretty much you'll find me at my happiest with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and something chocolate and delicious at a cafe, reading or talking for hours; or by the ocean; or on an adventure.

I love learning. I'm interested in all things creative, world issues, conflict and politics, food security, health, organic farming, environmental sustainability, etc. I sing, dance, and try to do art and yoga whenever possible. I'm good at languages, I think, and seeing multiple perspectives. I like to try new, different foods and cook. I think Maine is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's been my dream since I was young to travel to India.

PHILOSOPHY

Everything is connected.
People are inherently good.
It's my responsibility to better the world somehow.

Constantly trying to balance living life in the moment while still planning for the future

Music, Movies, and Books

Lost in Translation is one of my favorite movies. Also The Edukators, which is a German movie, which everyone should see. Both are probably relevant to couchsurfing, haha.

I read way too much, so here are just a few: Lolita, The Stranger, The Power of One, Lord of the Flies, A Long Day's Journey Into night, Heart of Darkness, The Age of Revolution, Being There, The Great Gatsby, White Tiger, Cloudstreet

I like world music, indie, experimental, intelligent hiphop, classical, jam bands, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being in China with a Chinese family, and being able to experience 5 different cities throughout China as an insider was an amazing opportunity, and I'm so grateful.

Living in Prague for four months; it's one of the most amazing cities.

Attending an Austrian's birthday party at an Irish bar in Vienna, then clubbing with them until the sun came up.

Meeting two Spanish students, one Grecian and one Hungarian at a protest in Budapest and eventually ending up at a concert and then in their apartment with them and other Belorussian, Lithuanian, and Portuguese students. Met so many great people in one night!

Seeing the Polish and Czech countrysides.

Watching the sun set over the ocean in Costa Rica. Sounds cheesy, probably is, don't care, it's absolutely breathtaking. Especially when paired with Salsa dancing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, english writing and grammar, basic Dance- ballet, modern, salsa-, yoga, cooking... probably a lot of things that I can't think of at the moment. Could be a moderately good spanish language partner, especially when wine is involved...

I'd like to learn more Czech, Chinese, German and French! And to cook new things- indian food, perhaps?. And meditation. While I'm pretty experienced with yoga, I find it hard to quiet my mind.
