About Me

I am an International teacher currently living and teaching in Bali, Indonesia. I travel the world on my breaks from school and love staying in places where real people are. I tend to stay away from touristy places, unless it's an absolute must-see place.
I live a vegetarian, eco-friendly life style. I rarely drink. I am dabbling in painting, I love to bicycle around towns and coffee is something that makes my heart very happy! I sketch in cafes, start conversations with strangers and I try to stay of tech as much as I can. Living in the moment and making connections with those around me is very important.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been traveling the world since moving overseas! Since moving from Kuwait and then to Bali, I have had the time, money, and opportunity to travel way more than I did when I lived in the states. I have always been a big fan of staying in hostels, because I like the experience of meeting other like-minded individuals who are out for an adventure. Staying in hotels is nice, but that's not traveling...that's vacationing. There's nothing wrong with a yearly vacation, but what's really exciting to me is hanging out with locals or semi-local expats and experiencing the true culture that an area has to offer.
Couchsurfing will make it a much more authentic experience in my travels and it makes it much more affordable so I can see more places in the world!
When I get back to Bali I will open my home for people who are interested in staying.

Interests

When in areas with NATURE I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, water skiing (although its been YEARS since I did that), swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddle board YOGA, canoeing, kayaking, boating, beach volleyball, and other water sport activities.

I am an avid reader. I love books about relationships, life, human behavior, how to be a better _______(fill in the blank), How To's, teaching related books, Eco-Friendly living, philosophy.

I have a blog that I write about my trials and tribulations, as well as my crazy adventures in life and around the world. I enjoy reading others' blogs as well.

Traveling has become my biggest time suck here lately. I am either planning my travels, going on adventures, or writing about my adventures...or talking about my adventures to others who may also want to visit one of my recent locations. It takes up a large portion of my days (which I love).
