About Me

I spent 30 years in the corporate world and left to follow my heart and wonder around the US as a career coach. I help others find their path to live and work in a way that brings them fulfillment and meaning.

I travel in my camper van and visit friends and family spread all over the country. I love meeting fellow adventurers/couch surfers when the timing works as a host and guest.

I am passionate about the outdoors... I ski, hike, bike, kayak and more. My aim is to take it easy and stay healthy so I can be active long into my later years. I am an extrovert, but enjoy my quiet time. I love learning about people from cultures far and wide and appreciate different viewpoints from my own. I am thoughtful and enjoy talking, but get the hint when it's time to wind down the conversation. I'm always open to direct feedback as to how I can make visitors and hosts (when I am visiting) as comfortable as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I sometimes travel solo and really enjoy meeting new people. I much prefer a cozy environment to a stale hotel room. I am also budget conscious and would rather spend my money going to new places versus paying for a room I’ll spend little time in. I mostly sleep in my van for road trips but enjoying couch surfing in between to meet people and learn about the areas I’m visiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read all things related to growing and learning, as it enhances what I do (coaching). I read a lot of mind expanding authors, like Brené Brown, Simon Sinek, Pema Chodron, and more- I mostly read non-fiction. Podcast wise, I’m a big fan of "We can do hard things,” and A Bit of Optimism.”
For music, I grew up in the 80’s, so have a soft spot for that era…Steve Winwood is a favorite. I’m also inspired by Taylor Swift and her compassionate heart. She is making a mark in the world, especially for women and those with less of a voice-it’s amazing. My iTunes library is as diverse as my travel adventures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I backpacked around the world in 1997 with a girlfriend for a year. I spent the last 3 months of that year teaching English in Prague, which was a city I had always wanted to visit. It was amazing...I taught Business English to Ernst &Young executives and ended up making some great friends that I traveled with on weekends. It was wonderful to get a locals perspective of the Czech Republic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Info on Self-awareness and Performance, communication and conflict resolution. I have traveled many places in the world and in the US, so I have a lot of recs and stories if anyone is interested in hearing about my experiences. I have the gift of gab- I'm told, and am good at making others comfortable in conversation. I am happy to do my own thing and am flexible and try to stay tuned in to the energy around me.
