Hi there! My name is Monica and I’m from Atlanta, Georgia! I’m currently on the biggest adventure of my life. 9 months ago I made the decision to quite my job and travel the world. I was so tired of living a routine life for nearly 3 years after graduating from University. I always had this dream of traveling for a long period of time but I never knew how to realize it. I realized that I just had to do it no matter what people though of me or how afraid I was to leave everything behind. Now it’s been a few months later and I have explored so much and met so many great people. At the beginning of my trip I discovered couchsurfing and since then I have met so many people from this friendly community :) I look forward for the day I go back to my home and get to continue meeting people by hosting them and showing them my city just as so many people have done for me!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I’m on couchsurfing so that I can meet people throughout my backpacking trips. I love meeting locals and talking to them. I think this is a great way to immerse myself in different cultural experiences.

兴趣

I have many interests! Obviously traveling haha but I also love animals when I was little at one point in my life time I had 8 birds, 3 dogs, 6 turtles and fishes. During holidays I would volunteer to take home and take care of the animals we had in science class. I also like doing outdoor activities. If I had the choice to go walk the city or go on a hike, I’d definitely choose the hike because I like being in nature and you get to see all the terrain and discover beautiful views that way. Those are just 2 of my top interests but I have many.

Something amazing I’ve done was spending nearly 4 months in Morocco! While traveling through Morocco I have experienced so much kindness from people. I have never meet people as generous and so welcoming as Moroccans. I’ve had the opportunity to see so much of this beautiful country. I have so many memories to take from my travels here and I will surely keep coming back!

I love hearing other people’s life stories as well as learning about other cultures as well as sharing mine. I have to say that that is the best part of traveling. Meeting locals and talking to them is a must for me. This is why I came here on Couchsurfing and I’m hoping to get that experience.
