ABOUT ME

My name is Monica. I'm 21 years old and I'm from Monterrey, Mexico. I lived in Finland on the last 6 months of the 2010 at Joensuu. I studied there at the University Of Eastern Finland where I took some courses about International Law, Intellectual Property and Finnish Law. Besides my studies of Law, I studied singing at the Kaaunpunki Kansailopisto where I studied classical music. Also I formed part of the Joensuun Kuoro of the UEF.

I'm also studying for being a Classical Singer, in my homewtown for 1 year & a half and I'm the lead singer of a female fronted metal band called Arrow From The Sun.

My passion is mainly singing. I like the feel of being on stage and perform a song while all the people is looking... & shiver :)I like to hang out with my friends, go to pubs & night clubs. I love to go to concerts, summer festivals specially of Metal music :) I like to read, walk on the forest, cycling, shopping <3, if I'm at a new place I've never been I love to do sightseeing all the day and taste the typical food. I like to take pictures, as a hobbie, specially of all the concerts where I go. With my Sony cybershot of 12mpx I have taken so many good pictures of my favorite artists and idols :)

I eat everything :) specially if it looks good. I'm not the kind of person that likes to eat weird things like snails o bugs :P but if the person insist I can TRY to make an effort.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I can participate maybe couching, but I will have to ask for permission because I live with my parents, but if you advice me with enough time I can try to persuade them ;) If is not possible I can show you the city & eat together and spend a good time! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did some couchsurfing in The Netherlands. I went to Amsterdam, Utrecht and Reuver. It was a very nice experience. My couchs treated me like if I was part of their families :P And I feel better than in my home :)

It was a great experience and I would like to do the same with a surfer that needs a place to stay :)

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I have met a lot of my favorite artist :)

I met my favorite guitarist MARK JANSEN from EPICA on September 2010 and the same day I met one of my idols, FLOOR JANSEN (Ex-After Forever/ ReVamp)

On October 2010 I had the oportunity to went to the last April Rain show of the tour of DELAIN where STREAM OF PASSION was the support band. MARCELA BOVIO the lead singer of SoP is from my hometown & when she knew that I was from the same homewtown as her & I was at her show in Utrecht, NL she dedicated to me the song STREET SPIRIT (Radiohead cover) and asked everybody to applaused me =D That was one of the the BEST moments of all my life.

On December 2010 I had the opportunity to met my favorite soprano, the best singer ever, TARJA TURUNEN after the show she gave @ Tampere, Finland. I got a picture with her and told that she was my inspiration for start studying classical music. She wished to me the best & a successful career :)
