Hi, my name is Monique,

I live and breathe the primary teacher life. I enjoy cooking up a storm. Sky diving & Bungee jumping are my jam. Brunch is a favourite activity. Friends and family are held dear to my heart. The sunshine dislikes my white and freckly skin. Dancing (despite my inability) is the way to my heart. Food is a passion. Exploring the outdoors is one of my favourite past times. Organisation and structure bring comfort and happiness to my life.

This year I am throwing in the towel, stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking a gap year to travel around the world. Secretly I am way too old for a gap year... but here I go!

I am couch surfing because my friend has suggested that this is the best way to meet locals and experience a new location for what it really is, not just as a tourist! I want to experience a culture and discover the hidden gems that locals have to offer.

Learn - I would love to learn Spanish or how to surf.
Share - I love sharing outrageously funny travel stories and my experiences from around the world. I can share my cooking ability or great vegetarian recipes.
