ABOUT ME

I love to cook, bike, backpack, play with my cats, read, salsa, and did I mention cook? :)

I moved a lot as a child but it was always along the West Coast so now I'm hoping to experience more of the world!

I've been working on ensuring I can travel at least every two years and am about to embark on a trip to Africa/Southeastern Europe!

PHILOSOPHY

As I get older, I've noticed that my personal philosophies are pretty generic :(

I'm learning to keep the things that are important to me important while letting the others pass.

And I'm learning that listening to a book on tape makes folding laundry MUCH more enjoyable!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like hanging out with people who come through Seattle, hosting when I can, and meeting people while I'm out traveling the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experience was limited to the couches of people I know but then I had my first group to host and it was very fun! I'm looking forward to hosting and surfing :)

Interests

Well, loud noises generally get my attention. But so do sunsets, weird cloud formations, musical laughter, a really good cup of coffee or beer or wine or whiskey or water, and things that sparkle :) I spend my time working, practicing aikido, playing with my cats and trying to relax a lot. I used to have a large garden that I spent a lot of time in but now I am limited to a few potted strawberries. And currently I'm spending a lot of time planning my next big trip :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in the Philippines in the summer of 2001 I got to check off two things I wanted to do before I died. One: walk through the jungle barefoot. Two: watch the sun rise and set over the same body of water. Amazing!
