I am 18 years old, traveling around South America with my girlfriend, Marina. Before going to uni I have decided to take a GapYear to complement what I am going to be studying as my degree, BSc Ecology and Wildlife Conservation. I have spent the first half of this year living in Spain where I have been playing for a field hockey team and coaching their different age groups, but now I am in South America traveling around and working in eco-projects.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see amazing cities and towns, and experience them in a way that opens my eyes to all the opportunities a place has to offer. What better way to do it than with someone who lives there, knows what to do and where to do it. This is the perfect way to be able to do such things and meet people that I would hope to be in contact with for many years after.

Interests

Sport - any sport is a good sport. I would love to get better at watersports such as surfing, but anything that keeps me active I am always up for.
The environment - since I was very small I have always been fascinated by animals, nature or anything David Attenborough talks about tbh.
Culture - having lived in Spain, I have learnt so much about their culture, and this has given me more interests in learning about other cultures and ways of lives.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much all music from the charts and at the moment my favorite artist is Ed Sheeran, after having going to see him live in Madrid!
I love watching any type of movie, although I'd prefer to watch a comedy than a thriller...
As far as books go, I have never read much, but this year I have been given 2 books by my eldest brother so have got them with me and plan on reading them.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far a teaching goes, the only experience I have had is teaching hockey, but I would like to help anyone out with their Spanish or English if they are trying to learn.
I am almost always open to learn, be it with cooking (my girlfriend is a great cook so I mainly leave it to her), languages etc. but from this trip I really want to learn about different cultures.
I am the type of person who likes to share my own experiences I have had and hear others.
