To find a couch and shower within walking distance of Pratt in Brooklyn: Classon, Myrtle, St. James Place, etc. to visit my son who's an ID student there!

ABOUT ME

I love life! I was born habitually upbeat and positive. Can't be helped. I am one fortunate human being to clatter through rough times and learn along the way! Started a nonprofit ten years ago (jumped off a very tall cliff and quit my sales job) to work with at-risk students in literacy arts. The best job in the world. Wrote music, performed with our kids, made a DIFFERENCE. : ) Now I work on an alt paper (the second best job in the world), work with kids when I can and sing with my sister (incredible song writer) and friends...try to see my son at Pratt as often as I can.

PHILOSOPHY

Cliche--but we're all here for a reason. Make a difference. I always tell my first and second graders "you're the future leaders of the world, so-can we please be kind and interested and curious and say may i not can i and smile and say hello how are you and mean it? thank you very much!"

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My housemate and I can offer a cool attic room, not just a couch! Plus a cuppa at some awesome cafes in Rochester--Starry Nites, Spin, Java's and especially Spot Coffee, right near the Eastman Theatre. We love to meet new people and show them around!

None yet, although I'll be couching in Israel next year--can't wait!

Making music, creating with clay, working with kids, reading, walking, sketching, more music, dancing, playing with our dogs, hanging with my son, learning Lucinda Williams songs, gazing at clouds...which ,if you've paid attention over the past year...wow, some dramatic changes; just fascinating!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Created a kick-ass rock and roll, rhythm and blues musical for kids --the script, the songs and lyrics with my partner in the Moonbeam2earth Project and then rehearsed and performed with 40 at-risk elementary school kids. That was the first performance of "Boogie Back to School!" The most amazing memorable experience ever. Literacy through the arts- vocabulary goes wa-ay up; celebrate peace, tolerance and respect! Awesome!
