CURRENT MISSION

I just graduated college and am on the most fantastic wilderness experience of my life! I am traveling Europe to experience the history and culture, to stand where thousands of people for centuries before me stood...In a sense I am here to find who I am.

ABOUT ME

Hmmm, when I was 11 I got my two front teeth knocked out by colliding with my little sister's head... After braces and intense surgery I can honestly say I have a $10thousand smile! I fell in love for the first time when I was 12 and have been playing the sport ever since! I got a full-ride scholarship to play volleyball in college and finally had to kiss it (and all my injuries!) goodbye upon my graduation this spring. My life has been complicated but blessed. I know pain all too well, but never once have I gone hungry or been at a lack for something I have needed. I have a split family with 4 parents and 6 younger bros and sis', each of whom have the same dark blue eyes. I love the man whom the Lord has chosen for me and could not ask for anyone better! I am instant friends with almost everyone I meet and I hug just about anyone. I love to listen, love to talk, love sunsets and the ocean; I love children and pets and could listen to grandpa's "back in my day" story anytime. History intrigues me and my camera virtually never leaves my hand! My life is an open book--I am willing to learn and willing to share, and I look forward to the experiences I will have surfing on couches all around Europe!!

Interests

I think it's unfair to be made to LIST things I am interested in because I could go on for ages!!! But to give you an idea here it goes... theology interests me as well as intellectual discussion. I could honestly care less for politics even though I recognize that I should. I love introspection as I learn more about myself and others through it. I find it interesting that Hollywood stars can't figure their lives out when it seems they have absolutely "everything". I love random little facts about all sorts of things. The history of Europe fascinates me and the diverse cultures within captivate my interests. I am always interested in chocolate... :o) Nearly every time I am in nature, I am taken by the creativity and big-ness of God, and I can't help but think on its beauty and majesty. In paticular I love the ocean and I love the sky. Nothing beats the ocean waves crashing on the shore as the sun sets on the horizon, the bonfire contentedly crackling its welcome to the evening....

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite book is the Holy Bible. Cliche? Perhaps. But it is the Word of Life! Otherwise I absolutely love the book Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers and have perhaps a slight infatuation with Harry Potter. I commonly refer to him as my second boyfriend! haha! However, if Harry Potter is an infatuation, Pirates of the Caribbean is an obsession! It was my favorite ride at Disney land when I was a little girl and the wonderment of pirates stuck with me ever since. I am not too picky about my music--I am not a fan of rap or R&B, but pretty much anything else goes. I absolutely love the Gregorian chants and the soundtrack to Troy, and I am often caught singing the Phantom of the OPera.

I can toe weave, cook a mean homemade macaroni and cheese, coach volleyball, and do fancy hairdos!
I'd love to learn how to cut hair, make homemade bread, cook authentic cultural meals, and know some fun words in each language I come across...
