About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Asia, some day.

ABOUT ME

Trying my best not to be socially awkward with people from other countries that I am meeting for the first time. Beer helps!

PHILOSOPHY

Might as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting started, but this seems like the perfect community for me as I like to travel and always prefer to visit people where I go. I know other people like to do the same, and I love having guests!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been meeting tons of couchsurfers on my travels and they seem like decent people.

I finally couchsurfed for the first time in Istanbul in the summer of 2009 and was impressed by how open and inviting my host was. It seems he was just leaving his key under the doormat for anyone that might need it!

Now I'm going to see how it goes trying to couch surf my way across Iceland for a week.

Interests

I like writing and drawing/doodling.

I'm really into mopeds and 50cc motorcycles, and that's mostly how I get around. Also bicycles, but I don't own a car.

Whatever I'm doing, I'm usually playing music in the background. I have about 400 vinyl records and 30,000 songs on my ipod, just to try and put a numerical value on my love of music. The older I get and the more music I hear, the more I just tend to like EVERYTHING!

In theory, I like dramas and slow-moving foreign films, but in reality I'm much more likely to just watch Old School for the umpteenth time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Colombia, I found some weed on the beach. It was so shitty and brown I just put it in my pocket and forgot all about it... until weeks later when I was leaving at the Bogota airport. I was going through heavy security. Drug dogs, young lads with AKs and then I remembered that stupid weed in my backpack! Security was thorough, they went through my bag and even opened up a couple of shrink wrapped books I'd bought to make sure they weren't filled with drugs. That stupid weed! Luckily I made it through. Smuggling drugs out of Colombia was definitely by FAR the STUPIDEST thing I've ever done. When I got to my destination, the first thing I did was flush it down the toilet, it wasn't even worth smoking.
