About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On an adventure.

ABOUT ME

I am currently travelling with my boy friend - Martyn.
We have been travelling now for nearly 2 years through India, South East Asia, Australia, the north island of New Zealand and now finally the south island of New Zealand.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others how you would hope to be treated yourself. An oldie but goodie.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are new to couch surfing however friends of ours from Scotland did a similar trip to us and couch surfed the whole way with nothing but good experiences and countless stories to tell!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As above we are new to the website. During our travels we have lived with loads of different people we have met along the way- most notably in Melbourne. While travelling in Vietnam we met a couple of Aussies in the buffalo bar in Ho Chi Mihn- we got chatting over a game of pool and then ended up having a seriously late one and almost missing the bus the next day. Anyway, we exchanged facebook contacts and kept in touch and when we came to fly to Melbourne our buffalo bar Aussie friends hooked us up with a room in their old flat while they were still travelling. This flat became pretty much a revolving door for friends we had met on our travels for the 11 months we lived there. Some stayed for only a couple weeks, others stayed months. Overall it made the whole travelling experience much better as we got to know all these great people better then we could have on a 12 hour bus journey or a couple nights in a bar in SE Asia. Then when our Aussie friends returned to Melbourne they arrived in time to grab a room going spare which turned out to be their old room!
We are looking forward to seeing all these people when we arrive back in Scotland and they come to Europe as we have been told is inevitable now they have us as contacts!

Interests

Meeting new people, going on adventures, music chats and making playlists which go on for hours, making unrealistic plans to visit every country in the world. I am on a career path which appears to have me inevitably following my mum into the world of nursing, or perhaps childcare- still unsure as of yet. Martyn is an aspiring Graphic/Web designer so we have lots to say on these subjects.

Music, Movies, and Books

As far as books go there are many too list here. We are massive movie buffs and we have probably seen every David Attenborough documentary he has ever made, narrated or been involved with in some way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stayed technically homeless for the majority of the last 2 years while exploring the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm, not sure about this one but as above you can learn something from everyone. I guess it would be good to meet people who have led completely different lives from ourselves and perhaps gain some inspiration about what to do with our own lives as we get older.
