CURRENT MISSION
Look for what's Looking.
ABOUT ME
I enjoy the adventure to be found in most things, because adventures are fun.
Now that I'm stationary again, I'm in revolt against being "lulled back to sleep". I work towards noticing the little things, appreciating the journey, and trying to see a bigger picture.
The result: I'm usually finding something to laugh about, and chances are its something worth talking about - at least I think it is.
PHILOSOPHY
One's resources of health (well being & time), purpose (interest & meaning), friends/family (love) and finances (work) are deeply intertwined in the pursuit of happiness. That being said: A lifestyle that simultaneously and completely satisfies all these principles usually seems unattainable. Well, nobody said it would all happen at once - or last forever.
No matter what your targets are, the process towards them becomes more refined by knowledge and experience - which can be gathered from stories of the past, examples in the present, or ideas about the future.
Everything adds up to be a self-narrative at the end of the day;
I would be happy to become part of your story - and have you become part of mine. :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing is a 2-way street. I'll return the favor by helping you complete tasks, and projects around your house/property.
Couldn't think of a better way to make new, and exciting experiences and friendships with people in distant lands.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My savings account with unknown purpose finally began to take meaning after I was laid off June 2014. I was in a financial dilemma: 1) stay in Denver, rejoin the workforce, and resign the lease - or 2) Pull out the map, go on an adventure, then find a new place to live and work!
Often times circumstances have a way of making decisions for you - and I knew I'd never see an opportunity like that again. Looking back on it, there wasn't a better time to forge through North America, and eventually Europe.
The trip would have been a lot different without this website - thanks CS team!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting out of bed.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've learned its best to find the center between everything: 1) premeditated structured plans vs on-the-fly decisions. While its said that prior planning prevents piss poor performance - opportunities impossible to anticipate often reveal themselves as excellent alternatives to anything envisioned at an earlier time. 2) Be rigid, but flexible: A rigid set of concepts/opinions are essential to navigate effectively through the world - but an open mind is our only gateway towards growth. 3) Don't believe "The Hype": I've learned to manage my expectations with respect to my impermanent surroundings. If it seems like a big deal right now, how are you really going to feel about it in an hour, a day, or week? Unless you write it down, you probably won't remember it in a year. Most things we value are insignificant - especially ourselves.
Okay cool - if you read this far you get to receive the prompt that boosts your chances of staying with me by 99%. Write "it rains in France" into the first line of your request and you won't be immediately discarded.
