About Me

I grew up traveling and I don't want to stop!

My entire childhood has been a series of moving from country to country, school to school. By age 6 I had lived in 22 houses! Settling down gets hard after that.

Currently exploring, experiencing and learning. Everything in this universe fascinates me, so much so that I have a hard time staying put.

You should probably know I am easily excitable and enthusiastic. Especially when it comes to meeting new people. (My friends call it the enthusiasm beam.)

Although there can be days after tons of travelling where I'm an exhausted zombie, haha, I apologize in advance. Just give me a hot/cool drink and I'll spring back to life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To me, CS its the best thing since my discovery of baklava. I've already met so many magnificent people that I don't know how I lived without it! I've couchsurfed across Morocco, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and hosted in Spain. Now I offer conversations over tea, board games or mountains.

Interests

Love sharing travel stories, a good round of gaming, quirky science, philosophy, debating points of view, sitting on mountains at day and on the beach at night.

I'm a game designer with a love for quirky, artsy games. But even more fascinating to me are the extraordinary experiences that breathe life into excellent games. So tell me your story. Or better yet, come on a journey with me. I might make a game out of it later on.

Music, Movies, and Books

The history of film fascinates me and I am often that weirdo that loves to go to indie cinemas to watch cult classics or old film.

Put me in nature with a good book and some tea and I'll be the happiest person in the world.

Also, need I say I love videogames? So much I ended up philosophising about them as my career.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I ran off to Paris for a day, getting lost in the city until sunrise. Travelled on a train for three days, crossing from Chicago to San Francisco. Listened to Amanda Palmer on her ukulele underneath the stars in Brighton. Laid down in the centre of the Pantheon in Rome until guards chased us out. Spontaneously solo travelled Morocco. Walked around London dressed up as Lara Croft. Built a rope house in Cambridge. Snuck into an abandoned church in Vilnius. Saw the sun never set in Turku. Got voluntarily locked in a room in Budapest. Fallen in love with countless people and cultures all over the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Avid drawer, pianist and neighbourhood IT consultant. My grandmother has recently taught me how to make the traditional family paella. It is very much still a work in progress but if you don't mind I will try making some.

If you know how to play the ukulele, I'm a super eager beginner dying to learn a few cords.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest I'm a bit of a chameleon. I adapt pretty well to other people's sleep and party rhythms. Primarily I love to spend time with my host and learn about how they live. Secondarily I love to wonder and explore cities on my own. A mix of both is perfect!

I don't usually bring a sleeping bag or sheets but I do always bring my own towel (Don't go anywhere without it!) and like to shower every night before bed. Also, I feel making meals should be as much of a communal thing as eating a meal therefore I love to help out in the kitchen. Just tell me what to chop up!

In general I try to be as clean as possible and adapt myself to my hosts lifestyle 100%. Of course, everyone has their quirks so if something bothers you don't be shy! Just let me know and I'll do my best to adhere to your wishes

At some point I might draw something. If you like it, you get to keep it. :)

To those thinking about replying from an open couch request. Thank you very much for considering hosting me! I appreciate your hospitality deeply but please keep in mind a few things:

1. Depending on where I go I tend to recieve a fair ammount of offers.
2. The most important thing to me is what my host and I will be able to learn from each other.
3. I will have already sent couch requests of my own to other hosts.

So please, please, PLEASE do not send me copy-paste invites, read my profile and tell me a bit about yourself and what you think we could do together. It will make both our lives infinitely easier. Thank you! :)
