About Me

I'm currently a student at Kent State University in Florence, Italy. Originally from Ashtabula, Ohio on Lake Erie. I love to experience new things and meet new people. I'm what you could call an extreme extrovert. Not that I'm one of those annoying extroverts, I just love talking to people. I will try anything once, especially when it comes to sports.

Not accepting guests simply because I live in dorm-style housing when at school and at home during summer. But when I have a suitable home or apartment, I will be accepting guests!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a college student, I naturally don't have money for hotels and fancy feasts. Couchsurfing is the perfect market to help me find a place to stay that will enable me to meet new people and stretch my dollar for more experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music but my favorite artists are Jack Johnson and Ben Howard. Currently learning the guitar and ukulele.
I Enjoy books of all kinds and am alternating between a novel of the history of Hawaii and economics books.
Favorite shows: The Office, Community, Hawaii Five-O, Madam Secretary, and Designated Survivor. Lost is a classic. No, they weren't dead all along.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got the amazing opportunity to volunteer at an orphanage in Ethiopia for two weeks. My mom had and extra ticket and asked if I wanted to go. Yep! Highlights from the trip: played with kids at an HIV+ orphanage, organized youth activities, explored the capital of Ethiopia, and had birds fly into the engine of our plane on the way back (long story haha).

Biked and hiked 40km onto a Tuscan mountain and back. 1400m of elevation change in 5 hours and summited right as a snowstorm was setting in with 55kph winds. Nearly got blown off of my bike on several occasions.

Spoke Arabic with shop keepers in Jerusalem, played guitar with an Italian hippie in Ohio, and accidentally ordered a pineapple instead of bananas in the Mercato Centrale in Florence.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've found that I'm a life-long learner, but I tend to be the "jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none" type. My experiences are incredibly diverse but I'm great at communicating with people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Will entertain with Jack Johnson and other surf culture music for food xD.
