I’m in public health (the stuff we put in place to keep people from getting sick) and used to work in a tuberculosis clinic, but am taking a year off to learn how to farm/grow food and to live in places through work exchange. Always have loved to meet locals and learn about all the weird and mundane ways they experience their cities or villages.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To see the city or wherever I am with someone who lives there - the art and music and small spaces you find from either sheer luck or knowing a place really well.

My biggest wish is the superpower to speak the language of the place I’m in (immediately) because it’s such a particular way to connect with people. But that’s impossible!! So couchsurfing is a good second.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share with you yoga and maybe 3 breathing exercises, eclectic collection of marine bio facts and African literature, DIY crafts, excellent urban biking and walking skills, and a nonchalance around spiders/bugs. I can also make a gooood cup of coffee and some oatmeal.

Want to learn: urban agriculture, how to figure draw and skateboard (started but haven’t had the follow-thru), how to clean and cook fish, Spanish, and maybe stick and poke tattoos (among a long list of other things).
