About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Listen: there's a hell of a good universe next door; let's go.

ABOUT ME

Longest way 'round is the shortest way home! I'm quick to laugh and even quicker to book plane tickets to somewhere half way across the world.

I like hiking and kayaking and lakes and mountains and airplanes and travelling with my passport in my left back pocket.

I studied International Relations because I like maps and didn't really know what I wanted to do with my life. It's worked out for the best.

I want to go to Patagonia, pitch a tent, do some kayaking and dance around in the fresh air more than anything in the world. And most importantly not write a blog about it.

I'm probably too optimistic for my own good and firmly believe that even if something doesn't work out it will probably make a good story later on.

I live for those moments where you find yourself in a ridiculous situation, sit down and resign yourself to laughing about it. Those are the best.

PHILOSOPHY

'All good things are wild and free'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Difficult living with other students who aren't quite of the same breed as myself and not as enthused on meeting strangers, their loss.

I'll bring them round in time. Hopefully then will be able to host!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfing in Nicaragua and Fiji. Riding on the tops of buses in Nepal. Diving into the Atlantic in February in Northern Scotland.

Last summer I found myself in pretty intense staring contest with a yak on the side of a Himalaya. I only lost because yaks are the most ridiculous looking animals and I was laughing so hard I nearly fell to my death. I think that's me in a nutshell - standing 4,000m above sea level on the side of a mountain staring down an 800 pound animal that was in my way and all I could do is laugh. I live for those moments when you realize how absurd every thing is and just give into it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I make a mean banana chocolate chip muffin. I'm great at being late to airports but still getting on planes. Great at breaking toes and taping them using improvised materials. I've got a pretty solid working knowledge of wrenches that comes in handy more often than you'd think.

Despite studying politics in Britain for four years I can't teach you anything about British politics. Let's not even talk about it.

Countries I’ve Visited

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Saint Lucia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
