CURRENT MISSION
To boldly go...
ABOUT ME
I am new to CS, but I believe in open hospitality and social responsibility to make the world even closer for those who live abroad. I am a poet, an educator, and a martial artist who believes that life is something precious which should be shared and appreciated.
PHILOSOPHY
"Live passionately and leave the world a better place than when found."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It reminds me of the way things were growing up in our family. Sometimes we would have strangers stay with us due to weather systems or just friends and family needing a place to "crash" for the night. My parents' place was always open. I look forward to making my home one where others may find solace on their journey, and I look forward to experiencing others' culture.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am brand new to this community.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I gravitate toward trilogies (The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, Star Wars), V for Vendetta, Casino Royale, but I also enjoy "Indy" works such as Waking Life and Midnight Special. Risen is one of my all time favourites.
Books: I tend toward the classics in literature (the older the better in many cases, though there are exceptions):
Paradise Lost, The Kalevala, The Wheel of Time Series, The Dark Night Returns, Siddartha by Hermann Hesse, Night by Elie Wiesel, Brave New World, 1984, Animal Farm, The Prophet by Gibran, and many, many others, including the Bible.
I am a Dean Koontz fan.
Music: Everything from M83 to Rage Against the Machine to Beethoven to U2 to Bob Dylan to Emma Shapplin to Cat Stevens to Bob Marley to the Beatles.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I participated in a 1,500 kick workshop fundraiser for Japan shortly after joining Valley Shidokan dojo.
Watching the moon shine across the Red Sea in Dahab as it rose over the Saudi Peninsula.
Seeing the sunrise from on top of Mount Sinai.
Convincing another person to embrace life.
Teach, Learn, Share
We are all students: guide me in a new way how to appreciate the world. I can guide you in some meditative exercises through the following arts:
Qi Gong--Breathing techniques for improved health.
Taijiquan for meditation, practical, and self-defence applications.
When the mood takes me, I do love to compose poetry.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Poetry. Stories. Philosophy. Hope.
