About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world performing my own special blend of music and comedy while meeting new people and creating lasting friendships.

ABOUT ME

Short answer: I write songs, stories and jokes and dance around like an idiot while singing and playing instruments. I'm like a very entertaining TV show that you can't turn off, no matter how bad you may want to.

Long answer: I was born Morgan Paul Cox on January 9th, 1981, in Fresno California. I spent my childhood and young adult life as a very big fish in a tiny wine glass called Madera California. I'm an actor and comedian, and I write music, play guitar and sing for the legendary Mad Town pop/rock group Apple Nasty. We'll be blowin' up soon....or blowing out, one of the two. I also sing and flail my body parts for the sake of the other musical project I am involved in, Hurricane Tommy. I love the band Ween, and I ABSOLUTELY idolize Frank Zappa. And I'm a capricorn. I dance whenever I feel like it and I'm constantly singing. I'm not too macho to cry sometimes, but I'm also stronger than I look, physically and mentally. Emotionally I may be a complete wreck sometimes, but I am ALWAYS a sociable guy. I tend to Wax Ecstatic. Root - Toot - TOOT!

PHILOSOPHY

Positive energy is the most important thing we, as human beings, can project into the universe around us.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will very soon be taking trips to other cities and hopefully other countries performing at open mics and other performing venues. I look forward to meeting new people and having a wonderful time.

Interests

Lot's o' stuff... talking, swimming, sk-8-boarding being naked, flipping the bird, taking giant shits at work, staring at stuff, laughing, disc golf, pillow fighting with girls, sex, stuff that comes out, stuff that goes in, random intoxicated tree urination, trampoline jumping, not being depressed, cuddling, selling people shit, singing, and, of course writing songs and performing them....anything to do with performing, really.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have loved way too much music in my life to type it all out here, but the big ones are Frank Zappa, Ween, Moxy Fruvous, Elvis Costello, Too Much Joy, Tom Petty, Mike Patton (all of his projects), Ben Folds, Ben Lee, Ben Kweller, Daniel Johnston, Flight of the Concords, Dr. Dog, and Beck. If I think of more, you'll see 'em here.
Favorite TV Shows:
Actually, I far prefer video games to television. No commercials, I guess, and just as much sex and violence to stimulate my american soul. My favorite games are RPG's, the kind that have ridiculously invlolved storylines and take years to finish. FINAL FANTASY ROCKS!
Favorite Movies:
I saw The Devil and Daniel Johnston in the theatre and cried. V for Vendetta was bad-ass. Serenity is one of the awesomest movies I have ever seen. Hostel made me want to projectile vomit, therefore I absolutely loved it. Thumbsucker was pretty good, too. I'm also a HUUUUUUGE fan of anything written/directed by RALPH BAKSHI (check out his films, fucking genious). I'm also really into Anime (namely Spirited Away, Akira, and Paprika). My all time favorites are Sling Blade, Little Shop of Horrors, the Last Picture Show, Truly Madly Deeply, Blame it on Rio, and anything with Katherine Keener(I love her!)
Favorite Books:
Right now I'm reading Don Quixote by Cervantez (and luvin' it!), but a few of my fav's would be Mark Z.Danielewsky's House of Leaves by Zampano(footnotes by Johnny Truant), the"His Dark Materials"trilogy by Phillip Pullman(read them!), Harry Potter, And the Ass Saw the Angel by Nick Cave, Lord of the Rings, All You Need to Know About the Music Business, Holy Blood-Holy Grail, the Hell Riders, This is War by georg bush-as told by Dr.Parsons, and anything by Stephen King (especially the Dark Tower Series) or William Shakespeare (especially The Winter's Tale)............ and an awesome kids book I saw once called "Everyone Poops."
Favorite Quotations:
"Music is the best." - Frank Zappa
