Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I recently decided to sign up because I heard so many great things about couchsurfing from friends. I always found it difficult to really experience a country as a "hotel tourist". Couchsurfing gives me the opportunity to really get to know the culture and connect with the locals.

Interests

I play guitar and before that I used to play the drums. I love music in general (all kinds of genres).
Like everyone on this website I love traveling, getting to know different cultures and discovering the landscape through hiking. Along the way, I also like to snap a few pictures.
I have recently picked up the sport of bouldering, which is rock climbing without ropes or a harness up to around 5 meters. I really enjoy it, especially because it is a sport that is suitable for every skill level!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band has always been the Red Hot Chili Peppers since I was about 12 years old. I have only seen them once in concert though...
My favorite genres are Rock (The Who, Bruce Springsteen), Folk (Mumford and Sons), Rap (Jay Z, Action Bronson) and Classical (mostly movie soundtracks)
Favorite movie... gotta be Pulp Fiction! Anything by Tarantino, really.
Book wise I really like Bradbury but also some popular science authors like Bill Bryson or Bryan Greene. And you can't go wrong with some Harry Potter, especially since I grew up with the series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once flew a plane by myself! It has always been a dream of mine to fly a plane, and in 2015 I got the opportunity to take over the stick for half an hour. Needless to say, I'm saving up for my private pilot's license ;)
