I've recently left my job in publishing and I'll be traveling through Italy and Croatia until I return to New York in the fall to teach English as a second language at a community center. My timing was really spectacular - my friends Emma and Geneva respectively just graduated from college/quit their grown-up job and we'll be traveling together! We've all lived and traveled together before and I expect there to be a lot of laughing and wine drinking and cavorting.

I live in a big house full of wonderful people in the vibrant, absurdly hip neighborhood of Bushwick in Brooklyn, New York. I'll be away from New York until September and I think I'm actually going to miss the smell of hot trash.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The house I lived in all through university in Athens, Georgia (host name: Maizy Stell) hosted tons of couch surfers and it was a blast. It's a wonderful feeling to show people around a city that you love and have them come to love it, too.
