Sobre Mim

Salam, my name’s Mostafa, I’m from Egypt and I had been moving around for quite a bit:) now I’m settled back home, Cairo.

I use Couchsurfing because people have been the most essential part of my journey, as nothing makes me happier than meeting people and listening to their stories

A little bit about me;

I love sports. I read, I journal, I fast, I contemplate and I do stretch and exercise on a regular basis.
My health is a priority, I love cooking & I prefer eating in than dining out. I’m an active person, quite hygienic, I make my bed when I wake up, and I keep my space neat and clean:)

I like to wake up early, but I’m also fine with staying a bit late with a good company. I can say I am a mountain person but I also love the beach. Not very fond of big cities, but I don’t mind living in one. I love nature, and I’m very much into history and culture.

Forever grateful to Allah; for the sun, the moon, the stars, the earth, the skies, the oceans, the mountains, the water, the animals, and the trees.
Grateful for what I’ve become and for everyone whom I came across, shared moments, and made memories. Salam to those, who are free & open, in touch with their heart, seeking the light and fulfilling their life journey🤲🏽

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

To meet vibrant people all over the world, share stories, listen to backgrounds and gain deeper understanding of every person and every place I come across.
Because life is ambiguous, i like to seek safety in other people and as for a man who left home long time ago, but home to me resides in my heart.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

Since 2018 and I’ve been living, traveling, pack-backing, hitchhiking, crossing boarders by land, sea or air. Having no home but finding home everywhere I go, traveling solo but never alone 🕊

Traveling timeline;

August, 2018
I left my country, Egypt, for the first time in my life. A 6 weeks journey ended up me living in Vietnam for three years; there I started a new life, I started teaching English and I had a journey of awakening, I truly started living 🇻🇳
I also traveled to 🇲🇾🇱🇦🇰🇭
I came back home on August 2021; I started solo traveling in Egypt 🇪🇬 mostly in Sinai

11/11/2022, after long patience
I flew to Europe with no plans but faith & trust. Being impulsive & spontaneously creating my journey on the way, in 11 weeks, I traveled to 40 cities in 8 countries, I’ve lived many stories & met dozens of people that touched my heart! I created a lifetime journey that I won’t ever forget 🇩🇪🇳🇱🇧🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹🇨🇭🇪🇸🇦🇹
I came back home on February 4th

27th April 2023,
Hearing my prayers 🙏🏽 I left home on a long journey, arriving to Saudi by boat. I was the first Egyptian to have visa on arrival by sea using my Schengen visa a week before it expires 🇸🇦
I spent few months traveling and hitchhiking in the Arabian peninsula, from East to South, to West & North. In the hottest summer I’ve ever spent, I hitchhiked to Bahrain & crossed land boarders to Emirates on my feet 🇧🇭🇦🇪

30th August, I flew from Dubai to Tehran/Iran on a full moon night; One of the kindest people and the most welcoming underrated countries I’ve ever been to. I spent 50 days traveling in less than half of the country, planning to come back 🇮🇷 I loved Kurdistan

17th October, I land crossed to Armenia 🇦🇲 With three weeks visa, met a friend and together we traveled across the country. With the three weeks almost over, I applied for an E-visa and I came by land to cross to Georgia. My visa got accepted but I got rejected on the boarders:’D and I had to come back 🇬🇪❌ hence overstaying my Armenian visa.
My life turned upside down but fully certain I am exactly where I am supposed to be…
1st February 2024 🇦🇲It’s been more than three months, having a blast of a time, the coldest winter I’ve ever spent. Staying longer than I expected, building incredible connections, indulging in both the Armenian and the Russian culture, and staying open for the right time to leave.

21st March after 5 months of being in Armenia and on the Newrooz “Persian new year” my intuition was bringing me back to Iran 🇮🇷 during Ramadan and while fasting, I’m intending to visit the other part of the country, continuing my journey!

After another 50 days in Iran; absolutely stunned by the kindness and the diversity of the multi-cultural country, my experience was very warm and fulfilling.

Longing to go back home, my family and friends 🇪🇬 my traveling energy scale is drained, my curiosity to continue traveling has vanished✨ Since I’ve started this journey in Asia and after 55 weeks, On May 13th, I took a flight from Tehran to Cairo, back home ❤️

August 29th 2024; after spending few months with my family, the longest I’ve stayed home since 2018, with few trips north and east, feeling good, grounded.
I hear Vietnam is calling again 🇻🇳
I took a long flight and this time it feels different

November 20th; it’s teacher’s day today in Vietnam! After being back to teaching and after spending the most incredible day, week and three months in Hanoi. I’m hitting the road again, my journey is taking me to a new direction, my intuition is calling towards a new path. I’m going to China 🇨🇳

It’s been two months in China, two months of a unique and challenging journey, and another new year in a new country. From Yunnan, to Guizhou, to Guangxi; Full of incredible memories, kindness and delicious food!
On 25th of January, 2025. I missed my second home, I’m back to Vietnam 🇻🇳

30th April. After another 3 months in Vietnam, between traveling and working, and a short trip to Malaysia 🇲🇾 I’m back home 🇪🇬
