Help Street Kids in Latin America to Get an Education and a Better Life

ABOUT ME

The MotoNomadas team is composed by Efrain Martinez & Ileana La Torre, 2 Latinos wanting to cross Central and South America riding their motorcycle with sidecar.

While we achieve one of our biggest dreams, we would like to contribute our part to the less fortunate, so we have teamed up with different non-profit organizations to help street kids in Latin America to get education, food and clothing.

Driven by the philosophy of living life to its fullest and inspired by entropy (a measure of how great unexpected changes are), we began preparing for a very challenging trip in July 2008.

We have created a Facebook group MotoNomadas, which we intent to use to keep our family, friends, supporters, and others posted with the latest stories and photos of our nomad life through the America's.

We hope our MotoNomada life serves as a source of inspiration to those of you who always dream with doing something big but are too scared of the unknown. We want to show you that it is possible to achieve those dreams by putting dedication and devotion to them.

PHILOSOPHY

MotoNomadas-Explorando el Sur project was born in 2008 as a result of the desire to live our lives to the maximum, taking advantage of we are still alive, young and healthy. So, because of this, we have decided to embark ourselves in one of the greatest adventures of our lives....CROSS PART OF THE WORLD ON MOTORCYCLE!!!

Besides wanting to have the chance to get to know other cultures, people, places and experience new adventures; we decided "why not" make our trip a motorcycle adventure charity campaign to help different organizations in the fulfillment of its objectives to help to educate street kids and lessen poverty in Latin America.

As part of this project we are raising funds through our website, by selling MotoNomadas T-shirts, and putting together some events. All the money collected will be used to buy basic school and building supplies needed in the centers located in different points throughout Central and South America.

The route of this trip will be drawn up with the purpose of to be able to visit and give your contributions in person to these children who have true needs.
