About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Maximize adventure, minimize downtime

ABOUT ME

Hey there! I'm a biomedical engineer in Salt Lake City. I'm excited to begin hosting surfers again. I live in Salt Lake City, about a mile south of downtown. I don't have any roommates at the moment but I do have space for a few (3-4) surfers. If I have some free time I'd be more than willing to show you what to do in town and all the outdoorsy stuff to do - hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, rock climbing. My house is fairly close to the bus lines that can take you to the resorts. I'll likely be skiing Alta this season, but can go with surfers if they want me to join at the other resorts. I work in the medical field and sometimes will have crazy hours during the day and am on call during some weekends, but I'll let you know my schedule if you send a request. Happy surfing!

PHILOSOPHY

Do what you can, with what you have

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My couch and blow up beds do most of the work, but I open my house up to strangers to make new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted several groups in college, but now that I have my own place out here I can start hosting again. Every group I've hosted has been an awesome experience, and I've gotten to hang out with a few groups when I wasn't too busy. I haven't surfed any couches yet but am hoping to on my trip to Brazil this fall.

Interests

Skiing, mountain biking, Crossfit, running, hiking, snowshoeing, rock climbing, rafting, live music, beginning handstands, tree climbing, zip lines, alpine slides, backcountry skiing, saving lives (sort of), Crossfit, not getting stuck in avalanches.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to try and find a niche in every music genre, because I think dismissing an entire genre of music based on a few bad artists is awful. I've been listening to bluegrass lately (Old Crow Medicine Show, Trampled by Turtles), hip-hop (Roots, Hieroglyphics), 60's/70's rock (ACDC, Doors, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Underground, Neil Young), Electronic (Daft Punk, Deadmau5), Hippie music (Dispatch/state radio), I grew up listening to punk and ska (Offspring, Green Day, Reel Big Fish) and there is almost never a time where I won't listen to Bad Religion.
