ABOUT ME

I'm an American student who as a youth moved around the southwestern United States and currently lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
I played the drums in a country-western band for a while, but now times are a-changing so I now play the bass guitar in a more pop-oriented band.
I like to throw parties at my house at home. It makes me happy to keep people's mugs full by pouring my pitcher!

PHILOSOPHY

I used to be more worried about the compatibility of my values and the scientific world-view I am committed to, but now I think the task of philosophical thought is to analyze these two aspects of reality, fact and value, to see how they can be mutually understood. I think our actions, emotions, and more persistent, reflective thoughts reveal what we really believe and value. These ordinary commitments and our desire to achieve a sort of equilibrium in our lives shows that philosophy is not about solving problems, but dissolving them and putting clear thought to use in animating our lives with more clear purposes.

This is the dawn of my Couchsurfing officially speaking, though I have been that guy on the couch and had that guy on the couch on my couch a few times!

I just watched "Before Sunrise" it was great! I also like: "There Will Be Blood" "Raiders of the Lost Arc" "Monty Python's Holy Grail" "American Psycho" "Casablanca"
I really do enjoy a whole bunch of music. I would try to turn you on to a whole panoply of pop classics. I especially find classical music inspiring. I find that Jazz speaks to me when I relax by myself or within conversations.
I like long, involved novels where the characters become like family memebers I have watched grow: War and Peace, Brothers Karamazov.
Lots of philosophy like Kant and WIttgenstein
Right now I'm working on Swan's Way and Catcher in the Rye.
